While the global automotive trends lean towards compact crossovers and SUVs, the modified European car scene remains loyal to more conventional body styles like Coupes, Sedans, Hatchbacks, and Wagons. However, the number of people who want to push out the boundaries and try new platforms like crossovers grows pretty fast, and there is a reason for that.

Key Facts about the SQ5 build:

  • Air suspension lets you adjust the car’s height for perfect stance while still being practical to drive
  • Big 22-inch custom wheels and performance tires give the SQ5 an aggressive look and sporty feel
  • Even after lowering it you still have anough clearance not to scrap everything under the belly

Why Crossovers?

Picking a crossover for your next project may be a great decision for a couple of reasons: first – these cars are not as widespread as common Golf Hatchbacks or 3-series sedans and automatically attract more attention, 2nd – they’re indeed more versatile and comfortable in everyday usage.

3rd – when lowered – they still have enough clearance for more or less comfortable driving. Plus, in the case of this modified Audi SQ5, they’re incredibly fun to drive thanks to the supercharged 3.0L TFSI engine cable of 340HP and the famous Quattro all-wheel-drive technology with torque vectoring system.

Conclusion

Performance-trimmed crossovers like the SQ5 blend practicality with sports car DNA, offering potent factory powertrains and sophisticated all-wheel-drive systems as a solid foundation for modifications. Their higher ride height makes them perfect candidates for air suspension setups, while their muscular body lines respond exceptionally well to aggressive wheel fitments and aerodynamic upgrades without sacrificing daily usability.

Build difficulty rating

Parts CategoryDifficulty Rating*
Performance Mods:10/10
Exterior Mods:7/10
Interior Mods:5/10

* Based on our build difficulty evaluation system ⓘ

The exterior modifications dominate this build with a solid 7/10 score, featuring the striking RSQ5 front end conversion and Inozetek Midnight Purple wrap. The suspension setup scores high at 8/10 thanks to the premium AirLift system with dual compressors, while the interior achieves 5/10 through extensive carbon fiber work.

With the factory supercharged V6 already pushing 340 horses to all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro system, the owner wisely focused on styling rather than chasing unnecessary power gains.
